A popular, vibrant Food & Drink Festival plays an important role in bringing people to Tewkesbury and increasing visitor footfall. Badly hit by flooding in the winter of 2013/2014, the town’s retailers and tourist attractions need to show that the town is thriving and open for business. Based in the Abbey Grounds, the event featured more than 60 stalls of award-winning cheeses, locally reared meat, homemade cake, pastries, wine, beer, cider and much more.
As well as sourcing and organising the presentations in the cookery theatre showcasing local chefs and food experts, we focused on the marketing the event using striking signage, branded leaflets, advertising and a radio promotion as well as a social media campaign featuring a blog, Facebook page and Twitter account. The highlight of the media relations was a piece in the Times Weekend section.
